报告摘要:
The ultimate dream of theoretical physicists is to find “a theory of everything”-- a theory quantizing gravity. One the most striking feature of quantum gravity is holography, which claims a gravity theory in (d+1)-dimensions can be described by a field theory in its d-dimensional boundary. I will give a brief introduction about what is holography and what holography can tell us about quantum gravity. And I will explain some recent developments about p-adic holography based on my recent work arXiv: 1703.05445.
许多年来,物理学家的梦想之一是建立一个量子引力理论,一个用统一的方式描述自然界所有作用力的理论。到现在为止,弦论是最符合这个要求的理论。我会在本讲座中简要介绍引力和量子引力的基本概念,和当今的一些热门课题。如果时间允许,我会讨论近期我的相关研究。
报告人简介:
Yang Lei was an undergraduate in Peking University from 2007-2011. He acquired PhD in Durham University in 2016, under supervision of Prof Simon Ross. Yang Lei joined Institute of Theoretical Physics, Chinese academy of Science in 2016 for postdoc. His research interests include string theory, black hole and holography.
